In Malaysia

So i arrived to Kuala Lumpur 2 days ago after spending 4 nights in LangKawi island.. The island was very nice, many sight seeing and places to visit but nothing much other than that..The island is dead by 7 pm.

Kuala Lumpur is my kind of city; very big, no traffic jamming, friendly people, lots of options for transportation, prices are ALWAYS negotioable, has many ethnic groups and nationalities, and almost everyone is having a good time... makes me wish i went to college here rather than the sh*thole that i graduated from. I think thats why i like Japanese animaton and cartoons; becasue i love eastern asian cultures.

Anyway, here's acouple of funny things ai'd like to talk about:

First of all, the friend i'm traveling with is well known for his love of dining at restaurants. Guess what was the first thing that he talked about when we arrived to malaysia?? "Lets go to the arabian restaurant, i read reviews on the internet and i heard its GREAT! " and it gets worse, he kept talking about it for 2 days till i finaly gave up and went there...... Let me get this straight: I've spent a fortune on airplane tickets and traveled for 16 hours to the other side of the globe to pay triple the price for a moderate meal that i could have it DELIVERED to my home?? oh boy, i can't wait to tell my family i ate hummus and mutabbal in malaysia. And of course, i had to take a break from my diet,.The ways things look at the moment, it looks more like early retirement rather than a short break. But no matter, i can't wait till i go back to Kuwait to return back to my diet and gym routine ( never thought i'd ever say that) . I guess i finally started to appreciate the benifits of gyms especially the time sink that prevents me from having to deal/meet/or interact with other people... Is there any company that hires engineers to work as hermits? if so i'd love to apply.

Moving on to the second funy part, on my way to the internet cafe that i'm in right now, a middle aged asian man passed me his card, it reads something like this:
********************************************************
Venus Entertainments
(Executive spa)
MR. Eddie
Hand Phone Contact : xxx-xxx-xxxx (for anonomity reasons)
Business Hours 2:00 pm - 5:00 am
*********************************************************
I didn't read the card until i got further away from the guy and couldn't stop laughing afterwards.. tears came out of my eyes and people were loking at me strangely. Does this need any more explanation :) ?
Of couse it doesn't coz i have to talk about it and thats what this blog is for
Lets start with the name. Venus Entertainments, as is Venus the Roman Goddess of love and beauty? does this look like a name for a spa? i know spas can be relaxing and enjoyable, but entertaining? and what kind of manager is MR. Eddie? if you ask me, the first thing that crossed my mind when i read this card is that venus entertainment is another name for prostitition and MR. Eddie is a friggin pimp( which is strictly illegal in Malaysia and could bring a death sentence) there is NO OTHER way to visualize it other than this. but hey who knows, maybe he does run a spa after al, i'm sure there's a crap load of people who'd love a foot massage or a manicure at 5 in the morning.
On a side note. i'ts my birthday today. I'm 28.. Yay, one year closer to the grave.
Seriously though, it seems just like yesterday when i was begging my parents to apply for a driving license and admitting for college. Can't beleve 10 years have passed since then. but i did have a blast in the past decade.. jumping between 3 colleges in 3 different countries and/or states and meeting new people, i can see why it went by as fast as i imagine.people say that good times run fast, especialy fun times.I guess thats the case with me.
Well kids, gramps have to be excused coz he has to get back to the hotel and get some rest.. maybe i'll call for a "massage" ;P

Leaving on short notice

Hello again everyone

First I'd like to thank everyone for cheking and commenting on my first post.It is nice to see such a good community especially when you barely know anyone in it.

I apologies for taking a long time to post again, but my PC wasn't working properly for the past two weeks thanks to my friggin' younger brother. He downloads countless numbers of crappy programs and installs them without checking if they were at least virus-free. And when the sh*t hits the fan, all he gotta do is take the dsl line( Which I paid for) and connects it to his private laptop while i get the shaft. I wish there is a law that allow same-sex siblings to beat each other senseless, Anger management groups would cease to exist ( Notice i said same sex coz' the world doesn not need any more wife beaters). Fortunatly for him, I am in such a good mood lately, otherwise he would've been in trouble. He's also fortunate because his cat ran away, i had the perfect plan to take it's life...Let me correct that; I had the perfect plans to take it's 9 lives, each one with a different method. Am i really that evil? Do i hate pets? Not exactly.I just hate pets that aren't mine...And i don't own any.

Moving on, Coolfreak's Birthday was on last Wendensday (yeah it's on Valentine's day) so happy birthday dude. Unlike me, his birthday is not a national holiday ;)

I will not post for another two weeks. Because i will be flying to Malaysia tommorow for a good 9 day break. Good thing is, the friend i'm going with had set everything up; hotels, tickets, tours ,even our time schedule for the whole trip.. All i had to do is pay my share of the expenses. We will be staying in the beutiful island of Langkawi for the first 4 days, and the rest will be in the capital Kuala lumpur.I'm so excited about this trip, especially becuase i'm skipping 3 working days ( as if it made a difference)

Maybe i will post more details about the trip if i could find a cyber cafe or something in Malaysia. Until then , have fun and enjoy "Hala February" with all the freaks that are cruising on thier cars 24/7 like mindless lifless zombie drones

The Beginning

It's 3 AM . I have to wake up in less than 4 hours but i can't sleep. I'm starving but i can't eat (friggin diet). And i have nothing better to do, so here i am creating a blog and posting for the first time in it .

So, welcome one and all.

speaking of diets, heres a few thoughts:

When will some a**hole come up with a pill that REALLY works on those who are trying to lose weight or at least maintain good health? I'm not asking for a magical pill that will let me poop 50 kilos of fat within a 24-hour period.I just want something that either:

a) Reduce cholesterol and trans. fat without turning my liver into a lifeless bloody pulp.

b) Vitamins that actually have the same amount of ingredients and nutritions as printed on the packaging

c) More vegetarian supplements. I don't want to consume something like "DNA" -which i found in the Nutritional Fact sheet of a supplement- and find out later it came from monkey semen.

Now, lets bash the roots of the problem:food manufacturers/fast food

The main problem lies in trans. fat, for those who don't know much about it, it clogs your blood vessels like food crumbs in a kitchen sink. here's a very interesting link that i found recently
Oreo Case

Kraft/Nabisco is a good example here, i will discuss Oreo Cookies as one of their many products( and my favorite). Before the lawsuit that was held against them in 2003, Oreo's had -and i quote- "5.5 grams of unidentified fat per one serving" (one serving = three cookies).

Well what the hell is an unidentified fat really? don't they know where it came from? is it mutated fat? did it come from outer space? the answer is no to all, it is simply translated to "This is the fat that will kill you". Kraft kindly decided later to introduce a new Oreo that had zero trans. fat.

Was a lawsuit really necessary to remind them and people all over the world? that trans fat is so bad it could cause harm over the years especially when consumed by kids? isn't it ironic that most of those products are cookies, candies and junk food that concentrates on targeting kids as their main consumers?

I'm not exactly a health freak, but when i got my cholesterol checked couple months ago, i found it was way up. it was so high my doctor didn't believe i was in my mid 20's, she thought i was chugging cooking oil by the gallon. I started dieting since then and lost 20 kilos (thats 44 lbs for those who only work with retarded units) in 2 months and still losing more! I just wish for everyone, including myself, to be more cautious about what we eat.

I guess thats enough about me, time to hit the sack and not think about food.

Until next time, eat smart and live life!
Adios.
